Community Home Gateways are part of the infrastructure that can host platform and application services of a Community Cloud. The CNBuB 2013 workshop has extended its topics on community clouds, and includes in this year’s edition the topic “Clouds for community networks”. It’s an explicit recognition of the importance of opening up the traditional focus of community networks on networking issues towards including the application and service layer. OpenNebula is an enterprise-ready open-source platform for sysadmins and developers to manage data center cloud infrastructures. OpenNebula is a candidate platform worth exploring its suitability for Community Clouds.
